Hi Peeps, I have a question about the meds etc. that chicken keeper have on hand in case of an emergency or illness. I do have a first aid kit for my babies but there are some medications that I wonder should be refrigerated or are just fine sitting out. I do have some things that I have out by my coop but it gets pretty hot here in the summer and am wondering if I should not keep them out there. Things like electrolytes, cleaning supplies like poultry protector etc. A friend of mine ask about refrigeration because some human meds need to be kept cold..Thanks

I keep my chicken first aid kit and worm medicines in side my house since they will last longer. Most medications will have on the label what temperatures to store them, but any opened liquid or injectable medicines such as Tylan should be refrigerated.

Thanks so much..I don't have injectable meds right now but it's great to know what others are doing. Never thought of looking on the bottle..DUH!!! I have a frig in the basement that would be perfect for any meds that need to be cold...Thanks again!!
