if you could get a bunch of appliances, old stoves, dishwashers, washing machines etc. you could weld them together and create a little junkyard castle for chickens. But I think that would be alot more trouble than just making a normal coop.

Petunia, do you want to raise bantams? Are you planning to gut it completely leaving only the outer frame? That would make a big difference, but it would still have to be a small flock - which is fine. It would be cute and interesting to see your chickens walk into the oven to go to bed at night.

Where i live, i think i would be very concerned about the metal making the summers even warmer for the chickens - and maybe a little difficult to ventilate.

It can be done as I looked at my own stove.
I believe that I could make a stove also look decent
and similar to a doghouse (going by my own).
