You might want to post this in the emergency section for more help with your bird. Explain that you checked her for egg binding and she did in fact lay the egg, but there was blood on it, but that something is still wrong with her. Here is the link to follow...

Thanks for your help but sadly she had to be put to sleep today .

even if everything were to go wrong, the blessings we do have everyday are still innumerable. It's so good to hear you recognize that.

Aw being a rescue hen may explain it. Poor thing she came from a very bad start and was probably too damaged to overcome it. How nice of you to take her - she certainly had a better life once she got to you.
