I have a 6 month old pullet that has been in the hen house most of the day.

That would be fine but all she dose is stand there pulling peice by peice of straw off the floor and placing it on her back.

Is she trying to be a mime and saying...the straw that Brock the camels back?????

Or is this some kind of ordeal to tell the roosters she is ready?

Dose any one have any idea.

That's nesting behavior. Is she laying yet? If not, she's probably getting ready to lay.

I've seen mine do that as they are walking around the yard. It's so cute!

It sounds like it could be broody behavior. Someone on her posted a video of her silkie doing this a few weeks ago, wondering what was up and the responses she got were that they often do this just prior to going broody. Is she already laying? If so, it sounds like she might be getting ready to brood. If she is not laying, as the previous poster said, perhaps she is just getting ready to start.

Thank you all very much I will keep an eye on her to see if she starts laying. All her sisters have been giving me eggs the past week. I guess she is just a late starter.
