Strange black lices on silkie

you're perfectly right!;)
i made some researches and i think the better thing is to diluite some permethrin that i have at home and spray on them tomorrow. What do you think? Do you know what is the right dilution?

they were fine and happy again today :yesss:hoping they will stay well! This is a bit stressing period in the flock for me, tomorrow i have to do a non-surgical treatment to remove a bumblefoot from an hen's feet :hugs

The dilution rates should be on the label of the product you have.

You had asked "why" these critters are on the birds, but you don't see them in the housing. Lice for the most part live on the bird, but if the birds have bugs, likely they are in the housing too. A lot of bugs hide in crevices/corners during the day or even under bedding. It's best practice to clean out all bedding and treat the housing as well, including nesting boxes and roosting bars.

thank you very very very much!! :highfive::highfive:
I haven't anymore the original name of the product (and nor the label), so i think i'll buy ita again! I would buy pure permethrin, the equivalent of Gordon's Permethrin in USA...

Please, Can you look a moment at the first pages of this thread

and tell me what is the dilution that they found? I'm not sure to understand right in English in the first 3 pages of the thread...

They talk about he Gordons Permethrin 10,
does "10" means "10% concentrate"?
I found this product at 10% concentration, but it contains tetramethrine...do you know if it is toxic?

Well, you will want to go by the chart that is on the product you purchase. Once you get it, then if we need to we can look it up. The manufacturer *should* have info available online.

Thank you very much!!
I'm actually seeing an interesting decreasing of the number of parasites :pop :pop :pop :pop
Ordered the product permethrin so when it will arrive i will post it ;)
