I observed something weird yesterday. I have 9 hens, and all of them are laying. I have 3 makeshift nestboxes, but, of course, all the girls prefer one in particular. Funny thing is, two of the boxes are identical. They literally line up to lay in the morning. It is hilarious!! Yesterday one of my bantam cochins was laying and another bantam cochin got on top of her and looked as if she was mating her. SHE IS A GIRL!! Lays eggs and everything. What in the world?????
