They look like Dominiques....and Yes its normal....body language and signals its how they 'talk'

Both of the pictured chickens are roosters. I see their saddle feathers. I am pretty sure what you are describing are seizures of some sort.

I had symptoms like that in 3 of my Jersey Giants chicks which turned out to be Vitamin E deficiency and we treated it successfully without losing any birds. I recommend starting your chicken on it right away. Best Wishes!
