I just got a beautiful Indian Blue peacock and I noticed that his whole tail is an almost rose-gold or dark mauve color rather than green. His shoulder feathers are more gold than green and he has purple mixed in with his blue neck and head. Would he be considered a purple or is he just an odd-ball?

Nothing unusual, he is an India Blue. The fresh feathers will have more color and the humidity will change the appearance as does the angle of the sun. One advantage of the IB is that they do not sun-fade like the Cameo, Purple, and Peach do but will retain a dark version of the true color well into the molt.
