If there are any problems then we will get a drake. There are always Pekin drakes available around here lol.

If she were my runner, I would consider something smaller than a Pekin. Just to be safe. On the other hand, a Pekin is smaller than a gander!

Ideally, I would get something smaller than a Pekin, but those seem to be the only full grown drakes in my area. Hopefully there will be more of a selection by next spring.

Oh and since y'all raise ducks...do you have problems with your ponds turning green? This is our first year and the pond has gotten really green and murky. Would a water feature like a small fountain fix this?

I keep swim pans and dump, rinse and refill. The dumped water goes onto the gardens so it is not wasted.

It is a challenge to filter ducked water, though I am sure some of us have setups that work. I wonder how OldGuy43's system is getting along?
