I have only had chickens for 4 days now but have noticed that when I come in with a treat such as watermelon they love it and start pecking at it. When I leave they leave the run were the melon is and go into the coop. When I come back later in the day it hasn't been touched but they come out of the coop and come eat it again with me there. I have noticed this every day. They don't seem to want to eat treats unless I am there. I have not even seen them come out of the coop unless I am there come to think of it. Any thoughts?

They must like you a lot! LOL

Maybe they were hand fed before. I hand feed mine to the call of "Chickie Chickie Chickie Chickie!!!" And if I do that anywhere in the yard that they all come flying out of the coup. And if they see me they run up to the fence right away.

Chickens must be food motivated

Oh boy! Spoiled chickens!
