2 other hens dropped a couple elongated eggs.

what is going on?

Nothing wrong with the eggs as far as being edible. Sometimes a hen's laying mechanism gets a little out of whack, and the shell membrane is wrinkled, so when the calcium is deposited it looks like your eggs. Hopefully it will straighten itself out. Are your hens just coming back from a break in laying?

What are you feeding your birds, and do they have calcium in addition?

Good questions.
Could be start up glitches, stress, or disease.
The corrugated shells are often due to respiratory infection, BTDT.

I saw that thread. If that was an old hen, could be the reason.

I read the IBV link...if I'm understanding it correctly it should run it's course in a few weeks. If I had baby chicks they would all die but adults should mostly recover in a few weeks?

Many birds recover and can go back to laying pretty much normally, but some will have a permanent decrease in egg production. Hopefully the membrane issue will resolve.

well it only started this past week. Got two weird wrinkly eggs in a row. the third day less wrinkles. Have not seen another in 2-3 days. I have 10 different hens so fairly easy to tell the different eggs apart. However I have no clue who's brown eggs are who's so I can't link a specific egg type to a particular hen.

except the green one and the white one. Only have one type of bird that does each of those colors.
