Strange Feeding Behavior During Climate Acclimation - Insight???

Yes it has a top. I don't use a big box so I can still see what's going on by looking in the open front. I used a 12"x8" approx sized box to start for my 6 chicks. As they grew I'd increase the size. Big enough they all fit but small enough to feel cozy.
