I was wondering if I had goats cold I use a petsafe collar on them? I have an invisible fence for my dogs and thought that if i got goats maybe I could use it on them, then they could roam freely but still be in the yard and safe.
I hope that isn't too ridiculous of a question.

That would be so cool...I hadn't thought of that, and I have got some goats! Sure it would work, just like an electric fence works.

Yes you can. I have a friend who contains her goats with the collars. You have to train them to ot though.

Oh neat ~ I'm going ahead with chickens this year, against my better 1/2s wants. My daughter and I would love to have a couple of pet goats next year. Planning ahead :)

We don't have goats yet, but we do have chickens and dogs. A physical fence not only contains them, but helps keep predators OUT. I would be a little worried about other people's dogs, coyotes, fox, etc. getting goats that aren't fenced. Just a thought.

I have Nigis, and while the fence may keep the goats in (according to people on this thread - I wouldn't trust it, frankly! Goats are waaaayyyyyy to stubborn and god at escaping!) I would, like basicliving, have serious concerns about predators. Goats, especially dehorned ones, are ill-equipped to defend themselves against dogs/coyotes/foxes etc.
