Has anyone idea???? My white campbell Flo has been laying on and off for 3 weeks but some days she misses the next we have a normal one in the morning and then a soft shell early evening. Today in the space of 20 mins we had 2 soft shelled ones from her. The second is the one in the picture - has anyone any idea what this is?

Seems like she might needs some extra calcium. I think she is developing them too quickly. I have no idea why the green blob. Are these fertile eggs?

We don't have a drake so definitely not fertile, was quite a shock seeing it bless her :(
I'm hoping the soft shelled business is just her getting into sync x

Sometimes little patches of tissue get formed in the oviduct, and that gets picked up in the egg on its way through. I saw many more of these when my ducks were just starting to lay. Now I tend to see them early in laying season and it clears up.
