Strange head movements

I wasn’t sure if I should post this here or over in illnesses. But check out this video of my young rooster, he has been doing these kind of weird head neck movements and I was wondering if it’s some thing I should be concerned about.

He's either adjusting his crop, or has food caught in his throat.

I'd check his crop if he's doing it every day. Could mean he has a blockage.

OK. I’m going to remove access to the feeder and the water overnight and I will check his crop in the morning. It should be empty and if not I will start treating him. I’ve had chickens for so many years and never had to deal with a crop issue, so this is new for me. just watched a couple of YouTube videos about it, which was helpful. Thank you again.

Giving an update on my rooster. His crop was still huge this morning so I brought him inside and I am giving him garlic water, Kefir and plain Greek yogurt along with massaging his crop. I have not been able to get anything to come up, but I’m reading that some people try to get them to vomit and some people do not. I’m going to keep him inside at least overnight tonight and see how things look in the morning. He seems very happy to be inside for now and he is not acting super sickly.

How did the crop feel—firm, doughy, or puffy/soft? You can chill a tsp of coconut oil, and chop it into small pieces for her to peck twice a day. Rechceck the crop each morning. Don’t give any whole grains, but offer wet chicken feed with a lot of water, and some yogurt and egg. Do you have grit available?

His crop is puffy and soft. I will add the coconut oil idea. I do not have grit available. I guess I can get some but I don’t really need a whole bag. Thank you for replying.

Yes I had heard that when I was watching YouTube videos about it. I am not trying to do that anymore. I tried first thing this morning and then just moved forward with treating him. I kind of feel like it’s a little smaller, might just be my imagination though. He is staying in overnight at least so I can keep an eye on him and control his food intake.
