strange looking duck

i read somewhere that muscovys cant lift up their tail feathers but mine will stick his/hers straight up
Mine can stick their tail feathers up also. looking at your pic it is so hard to tell drake from duck it helps when their are 2 so you can compare sizes. Is this your only duck?

yes, we found him on the side of a busy road when he was probably about a week old he was very tiny

we thought he might be a muscovy hybrid because he doesn't look like any muscovy I've seen he's got some of their features but has other colors i haven't seen on a muscovy

They come in so many different colors it mind boggling. Have you seen Lavender. On the tip of it's bill does it have the typical bean tip like other Scovy's? So many times ducklings get lost from their group, we see it quite often on here. Thank goodness you found him. you might find this thread interesting, and you can see what I mean by bean tip on the end of their bill. https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/130753/muscovy-keepers-share-your-pics/20 perfect example of bean tip
