strange looking naked neck chick...

Do you think it should live? Does it look "normal" for a turkin?
The rest hatched day 20/21 & one on 22. It looks really wierd....

The others I hatched... some naked neck, some cochins, some cochin/naked neck mix.

I think if it is healthy it has just as much of a right to live as any others.

Which one is it in the second picture? They all look normal?!

It isn't in the second picture. It is still in the bator. The one in the second picture are the ones that hatched on day 20/21/22.

I say let it live. I had a silkie hatch that didn't have much down but it grew up to be very pretty.

So ya'll think it is just fine then? Just not much down? It isn't up moving much, but it took it longer than usual to hatch.

I am not interested in culling any of my chickens unless they are in pain. I wouldn't cull this chick unless it were in pain & it sure doesn't seem to be.

It's always possible it will grow more feathers later. There are some oriental games that are barely feathered. It's all linked to the "Naked Neck" genes, which restrict feather growth. If I was near you, I'd take it and raise it.

You could even see the internal organs through the thin skin. I just glanced through the window and saw no breathing movements, so I don't think it made it.

It just didn't look anything like the other turkins that hatched out. It makes me sad that it made it out and still didn't make it...
