One of our chickens that has not started laying yet is making this "wee-" and "why?" kinda noise. Its not super high pitch. More like a low noise that goes up a bit and then it goes back down again. Almost sounds like she is whining. I am also wondering if this noise might mean she will be laying soon or is there something wrong?
She is very close to this one hen in particular. When that hen came to her, she ran quickly away and straight to me. I picked her up and she started making that noise again. I didn't see any noticeable harm to her. We have a rooster that has treaded on all the hens but her and one other. The one making the noise is one of the youngest.
Any help would be great!
