Strange Parrot Behavior

I agree that it could possibly be sexual frustration. My cockatoo does a similar thing and if taken out of the cage, he will actually try to some x-rated things to your hand. Giving a treat or something like that to distract him will only encourage the behavior, and you don't want to scold him with a water squirt either - so what to do? Take him out of his cage and move him to a play area/perch somewhere else in the house - try turning on the TV or interacting with him in another way. It is hard to deal with this, if it is indeed the problem. It is a VERY common thing with boy birds, though - the only thing that helps my bird is to find ways to distract him and to help him find something else to think about.

Sometimes he presses his head on the bars, then stands up and 'clicks'. Then does it again, over and over. That is a boredom problem for sure because he doesn't try to do any naughty things when you take him out - he just wants out and needs to be the center of attention.

Good luck! I hope you figure it out or find a way to deal with it as best you can. Birds can be very interesting!
