Strange poop (possible digestion problem)

Yes she’s laid an egg. I didn’t get a picture of the egg because I dropped it when I was checking the quality of it. The shell looked good, just not quite as thick as it should be. I gave her a calcium tablet and some more oxymav. She’s eating and drinking like a trooper though. She’s walking so good now. Her poo’s are still sloppy but she’s acting so much better than this morning. She looks so healthy.

This is her just now.

I'm glad she's walking better now.
The egg may have been pressing on a nerve.
I'd continue with the Calcium for several more days and finish the course of Oxymav.

I am too. I was so worried about her when she couldn’t walk. I’ll have to keep an eye out and see if she lays another egg today, I’m not sure if she laid one yesterday. I definitely will keep treating her. I’ve made sure to put vitamins and liquid calcium in the chooks water, and I’ve seen her drinking it so hopefully that will give her the extra boost she needs.

Glad she is on the mend. Just want to note two things:

1) Tetracyclines (oxymav) can bind to calcium reducing its effectiveness so I would give extra calcium (if necessary) as a tablet a few hours after the antibiotics.

2) I'd keep track of her eggs (by coloring her vent so it dyes the egg or just separating her) and throw them out until two weeks after the last day of antibiotics so you don't inadvertently contribute to antibiotic resistance.

Sounds good!
Keep us posted.

I’ve been mixing the calcium tablet in with the oxymav because most of the time I have to distract her with treats to get a hold of her (you know what chooks are like). But I’ve got extra calcium in one of her waters. Hopefully she’s getting enough. What should I colour her vent with? Would food colouring work okay? At the moment her eggs have been coming out with a little poop on them, so I’ll do my best to throw her eggs away. Does the antibiotic go into their eggs also?

I'm not a chemist or vet, but from what I understand I wouldn't mix calcium with the oxymav. I'd just stop the extra calcium supplement and hope she gets enough from her food.

Food coloring should work fine to mark the eggs. I'd just take a Q-tip and dab a little inside her vent. Some of the antibiotic does get into the eggs and not enough to actually be effective so if you were to use them there is a possibility that the bacteria in your body could develop resistance to the drug.

Just pop the Calcium tablet directly into her beak. If she's hard to catch then wait until she's roosting to gather her up. You can give it at dark or go out early before she gets up.
Just pull down on her wattles and pop the pill into her beak and let her swallow.
She needs to the calcium to get through.

That’s what I started doing. They’re massive tablets so I’ve just been breaking them up and popping them on her tongue and wait for her to swallow. I haven’t been giving her a massive amount though. Plus I’ve got the extra liquid calcium in her water. She been on the oxymav for 5 days which is the recommended maximum on the instructions, but the lady recommended a whole week. Wondering if I should do the two extra days? I’ll see if her poo is improving. It’s still got the food, you can see but it doesn’t look as loose.
