Hi,

I posted a few weeks ago here:
https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...rnix-japanese-quail-chick-or-if-not-what-type
It was about my quail chicks who have developed this silvery colouring, but now, it's gone.
Instead of silver, it's turned a little more orange/pale brown colour.

Quail One
[Male] He's covered in poop...

Quail Two
[Female]

Quail Three
[Male]

If anyone knows what type of quail these are, I'd appreciate it! As I'd like to breed some more of this colour in the future.
I thought they were silvers as suggested before in my other thread, but now I'm stumped.

Thanks guys.

Buff silver mixed with white, would it be some type of pied?
I have no idea how I even got these guys. My original quail were just a trio of roux dilute's, and then when we hatched the eggs, BAM, we got three roux dilute's (one male being a strong rusty colour), three browns, three of these silvery guys and two whites (one passing away, so one white).

Well, the breeder did have a variety of colours to sell, which he placed in his ad. I think that's where the gene's came from.

Is this the 3rd hatch or still the 2nd?

Yea, the red under the beak is a little strange. (Joking, it's blood) (THAT'S POOP?!?)

Where the parents Pharoah, British Range/A & M(Whatever you wanna call/Let's not get into this), what colour were they?

It could be some mutant gene, like a 1 in couple thousand/billion chance of getting, or some random recessive gene.

Were the eggs white when you put em in?

('Cause my pharoah's lay brown eggs, they only lay white when i help em lay (egg-bound), 'cause colour is the stage that it goes through just before coming out (the egg that is))
