strange rooster behavior

My rooster squats and points his beak to the heavens frequently. Is this normal behavior? He spends a lot of time like this, shaking his head around and crowing too. I've seen a lot of roosters but not one that does this 360° vision squat. I'm butchering roosters this weekend, do I need to pick out another breeding rooster?

I have seen a lot of roosters also, and have not seen this behavior. Is he also being butchered? Is your breeding rooster the one with the behavior?

He has been doing it for weeks and weeks. I picked him out as my top rooster because I liked his blue earlobes. Most of this breed are just red. He is a Bresse. I butchered 6 others and I still have one too many. I like Archie but something might be wrong. The other rooster, Reggie, has normal behavior and red earlobes. I wanted Archie to be my breeding rooster and Reggie was going to be my backup, except there are still too many roosters all together. I'm not exactly sure how old they are but the pullets just started laying.

I might suggest posting this issue under the Emergencies/Diseases/Injuries and Cures. I've never seen this behavior before but I'm sure others there will have a much better knowledge of what you're dealing with.
