strange shaped vent

I have a bantam cochin that has what looks to me to be a strangely shaped vent. It looks like a regular hole, not a horizontal line. It has had pasty butt, and is only 4 days old, but the smallest of the bunch. Any ideas?

Give it some time - may be just swollen/irritated because of the pasty bottom...

My chick had a round vent and pasty butt and is nearly a hen now. It's fine.

The vent is still a hole, but it has grown a tiny bit, in proprotion to the chick. The chick is the smallest of them all. It is a bantam cochin, and still smaller then a golf ball at day six. But it is eating and drinking, so I figure all systems are go in side!
