Strange white bumps on hens wattles/face

Did you recently use a dewormer on her?

Check this out:

Hmmmm. I did about two weeks ago... but I. Pretty sure she had the two small ones on her wattle before that. The ones on this EE seem to be hard and crusty maybe? Pepper’s are definitely softer than that. You can tell they have fluid or something in them.

I'm wondering if they are full of pus.
Chicken pus is not thin/liquidy...it's harder and firmer.

I have never seen anything like this, either in real life or in articles with pictures. So I did a search on avian viruses and white skin lesions and found this https://books.google.com/books?id=Z...ge&q=avian viruses+white skin lesions&f=false

There's a cutaneous form of avian virus pox that starts out as white nodules, about the size of the lesions on your hen. Some are single lesions and others can be diffuse as the large one under her eye.

If this is caused by a virus, it would account for why it recurs. The cutaneous form most chickens recover from, while lesions inside the mouth and respiratory system are most often fatal.

Thank you for researching! I appreciate it. I’ve done a lot of research also and with any kind of pox virus they all end up drying and scabing over. Hers have never had a scab. They literally shrink up and disappear. Not even a scar. It’s so strange.

I think I would be tempted to lance one.
