straw bale coop??

Has anyone built a coop this way? If so can I see pictures? How hard and what was the cost???

I wonder if this would work with rice straw? With all our restrictions on burning the chaff and the non-existent market for rice straw I wonder if this would work. We do have some of our straw baled and sold, but not much. I would love to figure out something to do with it! I wonder how much the balers charge...and if hubbie will let me keep it.

My husband and I are currently building a straw bale coop. I'm blogging about it on www.lifeunderablueroof.blogspot.com , complete with many photos.

Today we put in the frame for the door, and I'm headed outside to stack the fifth course of bales. Thankful for the nice weather to get this done!
