Well they are the invasive species. They are not discriminating. Mice and rats are a small percentage of all the wildlife they kill. Around here they take rabbits, skinks, frogs and a plethora of birds including endangered species.
Get your cats indoors where they belong.
Ferals are not cats you bring in. Many places have working cat programs for these cats. I have a couple around here and they don't bother anything. The neighbor feeds them well. . A couple years ago there was a stray rooster and cat, they slept together. For some reason they got along great. My own personal cats are indoor only. Had a mouse in the house and they just watched Trun back and forth.
