Stray chicken. What do I do?, and it’s been SO hot.

Oh the poor thing. Looks like they force molted the layer house to shock the hens into final egg production before gassing them. That’s common practice in the egg industry. Just take them off food and water for a week or two and they go into molt once that happens they give them food again and they will lay real well for a few weeks and then they gas them.

That’s so messed up. I’ll try my best to Bri g her back.

I agree. :(

Poor bird. She looks anemic with her comb all washed out of color.

I would feel the need to help her too.

Get her some Good layer feed and high protein chick feed and mix them together for about a month. She's missing something in her diet looking like that.
Or you could just give her hi-pro chick feed with oyster shell on the side. She'll need lots of protein to rebuild her feather's plus it's got other vitamins and minerals she is lacking.
