Stray Dog is a LGD

While I was at work, someone intentionally run over and killed my Sue. She made it into the pasture and died. Her injuries were atrocious. No brakes, no skid marks, drug her on the road -- just intentionally hit her. Her collar was drug off her neck even & in front of my drive-way. There is no reason to hit a dog in front of my drive-way because it is straight-a-way, flat and you can see for a half a mile both directions. Maggie is going to miss her pup-- they were together constantly, always playing and laying together-- they were very tight. I knew something was wrong as soon as I drove up as Sue has never failed to greet me at my car door. I went right away to find her.

She had developed into such a great dog. I'm unsure how she got out the "invisible" fence. I am very p***ed off. I went to the Sheriff's house (walking distance-- a country block or two) & told him. He promised to set up a deputy with a radar the next few days. The speed limit is actually only 40 mph but people drive 60- 70 down through here.

I don't know what this does for my predator protection or protection from the two-legged kind. I am very sad. Sue would have been 1 year old in a couple of weeks. I like animals a lot more than I like people. I've buried two dogs in a less than a months time-- my hound dog (of kidney failure) and now, Sue. I buried Sue next to my hound, Annie.

I'd never trust an invisible fence, or anything else that depends on batteries

It had a new battery and I'd just tested it the other day. My thinking is that she ran the fence chasing something. The shock scared her and she wouldn't go back through so was standing just outside trying to get back in when a coward ran her down.

What a shame.

How sad to read this update. So sorry someone killed her. I never let my dogs out and about(without me out there) even in the fenced yard, because people can throw things over the fence to hurt the dogs/hens.

thats why my boyfriend didnt want to get the invisible fence, who knew someone this happened to. Sorry for your loss, we lost our beagle last summer and my sons dog a few short months ago, he was just too smart and pushed out a window to follow him to work. Im sure in time another great animal will make its way into your heart.

Just think of the great life you gave her.
