To start, this is very embarrassing.
I am new to this forum. My name is Tammy. I have four, six month Novogen Hens. Three have already started laying but I’m not sure which three.
Today one of my four year old twin boys decided to grab one (Henobi) by the leg and carry her around. I was inside as soon as I heard distress I went out. I didn’t think he was capable of hurting her for he is always so loving toward them.
I yelled at him to drop her before I could get close enough he was pretty deep in the backyard. He dropped her and she laid there motionless for a few seconds until I picked her up and brought her inside to a quiet room to decompress. She wouldn’t walk. I checked her legs and wings and body she never made any noises of discomfort. I put her back with the other girls. She walked around just fine for a bit and now for the last 20 mins all she’s doing is sleeping in the deck. She goes in and out of loosing color in her comb from bright red to pale pink.
If there anything specific I should do for her? Is she stressed? Will a post traumatic incident kill a bird with no physical sign of harm?
Thank you all for your knowledge.
