Stressed hens

Hi, one of my hens was killed by a hawk the other morning and my other two hens haven't left the coop since and it seems they started molting. Is this a normal reaction due to stress? And should I try to coax them outside into the run at least?

It is more than being frightened causing feathers to drop this time of year.

What else could it be? They were eating and laying well before this happened. I held my leghorn today and she has tons of pin feathers. I'm new at all of this, I need all the help I can get.

This would also be the first time they molted since I got them. I bought them in the end of June they were about 18 weeks. When do they normally drop feathers.
