Stressed Newbie!! 1st Time Hatching.....

I have decided to try hatching chicks. I bought a Hovabator 1602 hatcher, have kept the humidity at avg. 55% and temp at 99.5 degrees. Its day 20. I have candled the eggs, but cannot see through them. They are very dark. How do I know if they are alive inside the shell.

I have never incubated either but, I would think things will start happening in the next day or too. Hope you will update for us. Sending good hatching vibes your way
