howdy
so yall may have read my thread from yesterday dealing with my delinquent puppy
well here is a question regarding my old faithful assata an 8 yr old collie lab shep x
she is great we have an awesome relationship and if never do have to give her commands it can mostly be done with hand signals body language etc. i have grown up around the vet collage in guelph with grandfather as a prominent enough teacher that they have now named the small animal hospital there after him but this all besides the point
the one problem i do have with her is that she is extremely jealous and stressed by competition for my attention ie new puppy and now chickens
a cpl yrs back when she had puppies she got a bad scabby rash much like hot spots in her lower back by her tail and i attributed this to the extra weight she was carrying but when i kept one of the puppys it remained and moved to her belly and armpits etc. and got to be quite bad
alas at the same time i was just begining fatherhood too and my daughter was between 6 months and a year and it was all to much and puppy had to go
and low and behold within week rash was gone
now it seems to have reared its ugly head again and getting worse with new puppy and 20 chickens
i am about to start using the bach rescue remedy for pets but it is a few weeks in the ordering i also have been told mercury free? baking soda in her water will help with the stress
any other ideas out there?
thanks alot
as allways
