Strike 3 "natural dewormer"

Well, I posted links to some studies from academic sources that show that, individually, the ingredients can have a moderate effect on worm and parasite loads. So as a preventative or a supplement this is probably a nice product. But it won't treat a serious worm problem, no.

I would think the processing temperature would destroy any beneficial aspects. Though it might be kind of neat if it could be used as a "PRE" seasoning to raising meat birds.

So this product contains a lot of ingredients that have been used as natural wormers historically. So it could be a supplement that helps keep worm levels lower, but wouldn't actually treat a serious worm problem.

I suspect that the "flavor" part is just to cover their asses about the ingredients because it probably won't treat a serious worm infestation.

I actually called Durvet because I was curious. They said the "flavor" reference means that the flavors come from the actual ingredients...pumpkin, etc..incorporated into the mix, not artificial flavors. I agree it wouldn't treat a serious worm infestation, and I never claimed that I was going to USE it for a serious worm infestation. In fact, I said just the opposite. We just have some, that someone accidentally bought, and so that is why I started this thread to begin with. Because I decided to use it, rather than send it back. Natural dewormers actually CAN have some benefit as a preventative, IF there is not a serious infestation already in place. As far as it being on line as a "natural dewormer" the company does not actually refer to it as that...but it is referred to that way in a lot of other places. Research "natural dewormer" on line, and you'll see.

Love this.

I address 3 envelopes and send, the recipients don't die.
Okay, THAT'S hilarious. :lau

OP—I feel your pain. Hygromycin was/is a pretty effective wormer. Hopefully you come across another good one to use in your rotations. There's certainly no harm in using it, since you already bought it.

It wont treat worms at all, waste of money.
See below..my last entry. I never asked it it could treat worms. I was...oh, never mind, lol. If you look on line (not that it means anything) but there are a lot of favorable references for it. As I said in my very first entry, I would never use it as a sole source of dewormer.
