Striped egg?

My RIR laid a striped egg today. All of her eggs before have shatter from being so week and they were very pale in comparison. She just started laying in February and this is her 3rd or 4th. Is this normal? The darker striped area seems to be tougher then the pale stripe. That part dented from carrying it in my basket.

Does she have oyster shells for calcium.. sounds like she needs more calcium.. but if these are her first they will be wonky until she gets the hang of things...

Yes I have a bowl provided for her and i got the highest calcium layer feed I could find at TSC. I wonder if she isnt eating any though?

It’s probably just that she is new to laying.. they often lay soft eggs(no shell) also when new to laying.. as long as she has free choice oyster shells and layer or a all flock feed.. that depends on preference I do layer and a scratch feed myself.. she should get things worked out..

Thank you! I was wondering why her eggs were so light compared to the pictures i have seen online.
