Strorage Shed for a Coop??

I am in need of expanding a my coop for an additional 10 birds.
My brother was going to sell me his Storage Shed (the type you buy at Home Depot). It appears to be a hard plastic and I am unsure if this is enough protection from the cold in the New England winter time.
Does the coop need to be Wooden?
This storage Shed would be an instant solution an I am thinking that being plastic would ward off things like leg mites a nd such the more plastic I utilize inside.
Does anyone have any words of wisdom?
Would much appreciate the feedback

I am in CT and I insulated my first coop and I don't need any type of heater in the winter just regular light - if you are going to run a heat lamp to it during the winter months you should be ok as long as there isn't a lot of drafts.

Mine were in a sheet metal type shed over the winter and it got to -15 here and mine didnt freeze to death ...I'd think the plastic would be more insulating than metal. We did have problems with the door freezing shut though

I had to put windows and screened hardware door on mine but it does very well in the winter. Mine is the Royal Outdoor shed. Made of vinyl and great to clean up! I would not trade anything less than that type of shed.

I should be fine, a heat lamp for winter is a good ideal.

I have a shed I call my Rubbermaid shed, for storage. It would probably make a good coop, if I cut a bunch of ventilation in it. Certainly right now it gets hotter in there than outdoors when the doors are closed. It has "skylights" that would be a great place to put those passive roof vents in, but I'd have to cut more holes than that. Should not be hard to do. Not as easy to work with as wood, but doable, and certainly easier to clean and disinfect.

I have been on the hunt for a new shed. Everything I find thats a reasonable price are those resin plastic sheds. I don't live in cold but heat. Do you think if properly ventilated one would work for me? Perhaps with a run attached that would always be accessible?
