Afternoon!

We have 3 chickens 1 rooster and 2 hens, one of the hens seems to be struggling to walk, she seems to limp every time she walks (or runs) and then is constantly laying down. She is eating and drinking as normal and she is acting normal too, she is around the age of egg laying so not sure if it has something to do with that or not?

Anyone got any advice of help at all please?

She is the black one in the attached photo, thank you!

Could the rooster have injured her back or leg while mating? Normally I would want more hens with the rooster so he doesn’t overmate the hens. Can you examine her foot on the bottom and up her entire leg for any scab, cut, swelling, or green bruising? Are her toes curled under? How high is their roost? If you could upload a video of her walking around to YouTube or a similar site, it might be helpful.

Hello,

I have checked her foot and it was curled until I picked her up but then she extended the toes when I touched them and there wasn’t any obvious cuts or bruising on their legs?

Thank you for your help!
