I have a broody hen right now on 6 eggs, and she is being stubborn. She will not

come off of her nest, she will not eat, and she will not drink. I kick her off once daily and

she just sets there in the corner with-out eating, or goes straight back to her nest. She will not

eat ON her nest, as we've tried to offer her food, and water there. I'm breaking her today.. well I'm

going to attemp it. She's loosing to much weight, and looks terrible. Well, my question...

Will a broody actually cook her eggs? Her eggs feel way to hot to me, and they keep dying. She

has set on 2 batches of eggs this year, and all have started to grow, then slowly die off. My

power went out a couple days ago, and the eggs were growing so well..we put them under the

broody, and the eggs died. Maybe we need a more ventilated nest erea? Her nest is in a closed

off erea in our home-made 'chick pen'.

That's one thing that ran through our mind.

The rooster is almost 5 years old. But, I figured since the eggs actually started growing, it

wasn't fertility problems.. Maybe I'm wrong?
