StubbornChix!

Do you just stick a bowl of food in there for them? They are okay not to pick and forage and dig etc. for a few days?

Yup on food and water. I normally have the feeder in there anyhow so that's not an issue, for the water I just grabbed a chick sized waterer and refilling that daily was sufficient for my birds.

They won't be happy to be locked up, but a couple of days won't cause them to explode or anything. :D Mine just scratched around in the coop bedding, and I had some flock blocks on hand so I put those in for a couple hours here and there, just to give them something different to interact with.

Hey
Wow okay - if after like 5 days of trying what we did last night (luring them in before dark and shutting the door early enough for them to perch themselves, as opposed to picking them up after dark and placing the on perches inside) doesn't work, I will try this! Do you just stick a bowl of food in there for them? They are okay not to pick and forage and dig etc. for a few days? So sorry all these questions. I am literally brand new and trying to sort through all the stuff I read.

Yes put food and water in there with the chickens then shut the door. Check on them daily like you usually would. Just don’t let them out. 5 days later let them out and see how they go hopefully they will be going in there Red coop in no time.
Yes they will be fine to not forage for 5 days!
:)
If you need help along the way then I’m happy to help :)

Okay googling Flock Blocks immediately LOL

They're just seeds and other goodies compressed into a block - they sell similar ones for wild birds too.

It's the equivalent of a chicken candy bar so don't overfeed it, but when they're stuck inside due to weather, I like to put one in for a couple hours just to give them something to peck at.
