Phew! I'm so pleased for you

He will probably be very tired now as it will have used a lot of energy trying to escape.

This whole hatch has been tough. I got 14 special eggs shipped after waiting for months and paying $$s, and though they are well packed, 3 arrived cracked, and only 2 made it to lockdown. My husband calls the two eggs Adam and Eve, because these were to be foundation birds for a new flock. So far, no motion from the second egg... but am so glad to have one chick! He's peeping away: maybe he'll encourage his mate to come on out!

This JUST happened to us on Easter Day. BIG chick that had pipped then zipped for 8+ hours. Peeping was less so I took him out and assisted. He is now 5 days old and great! 2 days of splay/spraddle leg taping and he's awesome now
