Stuck egg or? (duck)

Sounds like she is going to lay her first egg..Possibly just unsure of what's happening?...Keep an eye on her...
Sorry certain people do not trust my advise, although I do know Ducks...

A vet really is your best option, but it's Sunday, so finding and avian vet that's open on Sunday will be almost impossible.

Eggs can be too far in to be felt, and they can be shell-less, which makes them even harder to feel. Stuck eggs can cause strange poops, but so can so many other things, so this is why getting her to a bet is the best choice.

Can you post some pictures of her and her and her poop, and a video? Being able to see what you're seeing might help us come up with a plan.

If she were mine and I thought she had a stuck egg I would give her human calcium citrate (pill form) or liquid calcium gluconate for cattle (at Tractor Supply). These two types of calcium are easier to absorb and utilize than calcium carbonate. My suggestion to you would be to buy both because one has vitamin d which could help, the other does not.

How much do you think she weighs? Let us know and I'll tell you how much calcium you can give.

If she is stable, I would give the calcium, fill a bath tub with several inches of warm water and let her sit in the warm water for a couple of hours. Do not leave her alone in the water if she is not able to hold her head up properly! Keep close eye while in water. Watch for signs of getting too warm or too cold.

The calcium will enter the bloodstream and help her muscles to push the egg out. It might also help lay down shell.

The warm water will relax her muscles and allow easier passage of the egg.

As for stuck egg I have only had 1 duck with this I let her float in warm water most of one day next morning she laid the egg.

Your right keeping her warm and quiet even putting a heating pad under her with a towel wrapped around it on very low heat may also help.

I understand the concern, although Birds lay eggs and not too often is their an issue...New layers do not understand what's happening and things in the egg making machine need to stretch in order to pass the egg..Its a process that should be waited for...Not interfered with...

Not sure i can add much, but ask more questions. Are both ducks female? If so, is the other one laying yet? If the other is male, does he mate her? Obsessively?

Since they free range, I would guess it is possible for her to have gotten into something she shouldn't have. I believe watching her for a while, and caring for her inside will hopefully give you more clues. The Tums are a good idea, if she is egg bound. Also try massaging her belly, stroking toward the vent.

As far as poop, did you take a picture? Duck poop can be all sorts of alarming, depending on what they get into. May be bad, may be nothing to be alarmed about.

I haven't experienced situation, so with so many that are much more experienced with this than me, there is nothing that I can add and sure don't want to confuse the issue. I sure hope that she pulls thru this and a solution can be had. I would appreciate it if ya would post all the way thru to the outcome, however difficult it may be so we all can learn from this.

Both my ducks are female, the other is a chocolate Indian runner. She is a year older than This duck, laying fine. This morning her poop looks normal, she does not seem weak, holds head up, eating and drinking. Just not herself, tail very much curved down, in the bathtub with water she looks the most comfortable, she will stand, do ok if she doesn't try to move, but no walking yet this morning, though she was waddling last night in a weird way. This morning when she tried she ends up with both wings out like she can't keep her balance and then just lays down. She's soaking now, but I'll try to get a video in a while when we drain the water.

Try getting some more calcium and vitamin B into her.
