Hi all,

Live in suburban Philly, took my dogs outside at lunch time, turned around and there is a rooster standing by my porch like he owns the place. None of my immediate neighbors have a flock, so I started walking around seeing if I can could ask around, which lead me to a few streets away. Left a note to see if they lost a rooster but no response yet.

So that leads me to now. It's 6:30, there is a rooster in a dog kennel in my garage, and I have no idea what to do with it.

Thanks

It's good that you were able to get it in a dog crate, as it probably would have been killed wandering around. I'm *pretty sure* *someone correct me if I'm wrong* you can feed it some scrambled eggs, or some plain oatmeal. If you were to start your own flock, you would need to get 6 or 7 chicks and wait for them to grow up before you can introduce them. If you can get grown hens from anywhere, that would be good. You would also need to build them a coop to live in outside.
