I had a chicken who was my baby and turned on me. Now when I go out there, she goes and stands under their house where she knows I can't reach her. If I bend down and make eye contact, she turns her back on me.

Don't know where I went wrong. Her name is Ginger but we call her Weezer. That was the name of one of the characters in Steel Magnolias who said something to the effect, I'm not mean, I've just been in a bad mood for 40 years.

It's fun to entice her out from under the house with food. She falls for it every time. And I scoop her up and snuggle her and tickle her and tell her how much I still love her even if she's a grump. And her face gets all red and she really lets me have it.
