Hi yesterday I noticed one of my hens was a bit lethargic and went to check on her she started to move away but just kept falling over her head is hanging down alot of the time and she has no energy ive seen her poop twice first was watery and the second looked pretty normal eating tiny amounts and not drinking much

How old is she? Is it very hot where you live? I would separate her with water and food, and give her some Poultry NutriDrench orally or in her water. Other electrolytes could be used instead. If hot weather is a problem, it sometimes helps to put out a couple of shallow pans of shaded water for them to cool their legs in. Shade and shaded water are needed, and I will change my water in late afternoon when the water gets too warm.

Check her all over, starting with her crop to see if it is empty or full, hard, soft, or puffy. Look for any signs of lice or mies on her skin under her vent and abdomen. Does she have any secretions from her beak? Offer her some wet chicken feed, cooked egg, and melons abpnd grapes can give them fluids easily. Post any pictures of unusual droppings. Coccidiosis can be a problems in young chickens or ones who are run down.

She is about 12 months old No mites vent is clean beak is clean ive given her cooked egg apple cider vinegar vitamins b/c tonight she isn't taking much in just a few little pecks her crop is empty her comb is flopped over I separated her yesterday there is a few poops that look normal but

Watermelon, cantelope, cucumbers, tomatoes, grapes, and similar things have plenty of water and may help to get her rehydrated. Skip the ACV, and try the suggestions for adding a lot of water to a small amount of feed in a bowl. It sounds like she is dehydrated. Sometimes when one is low in pecking order or a little under the weather, others will keep them from getting their share of water and food. A vet could do a fecal test for worms, coccidiosis, yeast, or bacterial infection, but call first. Gatoade and Pedialyte are good substitures for electrolytes.

Thanks I'll update with any change

Hi guys so I've been giving her grapes water Mellon cucumber tomatoes Mellon seems to be the preferred option at the moment but she's still really weak and unsteady on her feet

Update so guys it's been a week now she doesn't seem much better she will eat and drink small amounts but she's still falling all over the place I'm 99.9% certain it's merks now my question is should I put her to sleep ? Or carry on nursing her ? And what about the rest of my flock I have 9 others all different breeds and ages

Have you tried the vitamins with electrolytes (Poultry NutriDrench) and wet feed, cooked egg? Sorry that she is not better. Putting her down is a personal decision, if she is suffering or if she is losing weight despite feeding her, and it depends on how much time you have to devote to caring for her. If you do put her down or if she dies, it would be good to get a necropsy and get her tested for Mareks. That way, you would know whether or not to add new birds or what to expect with your other chickens. The body must be refrigerated but not frozen in double clean trash bags.
