I was thinking about mini today! Also wondering how she is!!!

She’s doing well! I’ll try to grab some pictures of her tomorrow when she’s free ranging. I finally started letting the group out of their run to free range the whole yard. I was a little worried at first. She’s the smallest chick I’ve ever let out to free range without a broody to watch over her, but honestly she’s pretty smart, and stays close to the bushes or coop for cover, but otherwise goes about her day without problems! No one from her group messes with her, but I’m not quite ready to let my older hens out to free range at the same time as them.

as for parasites… I really don’t think that’s the reason for her size? I haven’t treated specifically for tapeworm, just whatever fenbendazole takes care of. I’m pretty positive it’s just a genetic fluke, something akin to pituitary dwarfism in mammals

Mini-Mini update with pics: she’s a couple days shy of 13 weeks here. She is the “Queen of the Food Bowl” without fail every day at breakfast she is the first one to the food, both feet in and no one questions it lol. She’s almost two weeks older than the other chicks in the pics

Wow she’s tiny. I would’ve thought that was a later-laid egg momma hatched if you hadn’t said the age! She’s so so cute. Can’t wait to see how she is when she’s fully grown

Wow she has grown so much since the start of this journey I can’t believe how much she’s grown I’m exited for her first egg!

Wow, that’s a tiny hen!
I’ve got a runt too, she’s normal size, but has really short wings that have always seemed out of proportion. She’s really fast, but she seems unable to fly.
