Stupid badger

When I first read about your dog cornering a badger.....I thought, poor dog wonder if it's still alive. Pound for pound there's probably not a dog who could take on a badger and not come out of it seriously injuried. Not only do they know how to use claws but as a major defense their skin is extremely loose so when they're attacked most times the only thing that's grabbed is loose skin and while the "once attacker" now turns into the victim when he realizes his mistake and the badger twist around and nails him.
Definitely steer clear of badgers and they'll leave you alone, corner one and you risk finding out just what they can do and don't think because they have short legs they can't move, they're fairly fast with those short legs.
I use to run into them while hunting in Iowa all the time, once they see you....poof they're gone. They definitely try to avoid humans at all cost.

Really. Badgers are tough customers. Fortunately, they also have huge territories and travel their territories extensively. Hopefully it was just passing through. They are not a predator that sticks around unless there is a den/sett nearby.

"A badger'd kill ya just as soon as look at ya!"

In all seriousness, there is nothing in nature that can really threaten a badger and there is also a very good reason you'll never see on in a pet shop or draped around someone's neck.

What is it with all these people that want to domesticate every species of critter out there?!
