Welp, I wasn't planning on getting the incubator out. But the hen who argued with me for three days that she wanted to be a mama, decided to leave the nest for the roost..

I caught it in time, out of 8 eggs 5 are alive and well 2 the shells are to dark to be sure and onw well I an not to sure about it.

Darn hen anyway...

I chuckle as mine used to just lay the eggs and hatch them, but after having to raise their babies for them so they could be broodie again, I quit and bought an incubator. Now we have four of them.

I presume that was her first time? Usually, they get better in subsequent hatches. I just got tired of being handed back the babies at only 4-5 weeks old.

It won’t hurt to leave them all in the incubator and keep an eye out.
Best wishes with the hatch!
