i want to plant sum sunflower seeds this spring for my chickens. are the seeds you buy in a 50# ok for that? are they fertile and will grow or do you need to find an buy seed made for planting. ok i know its dumb, but im even a worse gardener than a cook. thank you
 
Sunflower seeds (unless they are out of the shell!) can cause impacted crops.

Be careful if they are still in the shell.

ummm... i got some sprouting now that i got from a wild bird food bag.
