I feel like Dreyfus after my Sunday afternoon adventure! Ethel flew out of the run when a pallet she was roosting on tumbled over. Cleared the 6ft wire fence. 2 of my Labs took off like shot out of a cannon after her and chased her out of the pasture over a 4ft fence into the marsh! After wrangling the dogs to the house, one bolted again and chased her deeper into the woods, screeching and squawking! Another bout of dog wrangling and then I had to search for the wayward pullet!

Notice the color! Not a contrast at all - very camouflaged. I finally found her half buried under an uprooted tree stump with her butt sticking out. So, yeah Dreyfus fits!

Another update. Last night I was putting the lights out for the night and to my surprise one of the GLWs was up on the roost with Ethel and Bob! Mostly this is for my tracking of progress and timeline.

Another noteworthy update. Just in the last day, 3 combs are brightening, wattles have appeared mysteriously out of nothing! All are hanging out together as a single unit more and more. So far, so good. The most mature of the Wyandottes are now larger than the Easter Egger Pullet!

EE's can be what I call 'slim-line' birds, Wy's are usually much 'thicker'.

Another update. Tonight when I shut down the lights and took out the food the 6 Little’s were all hanging out right below and in front of the roost where the EE’s roost. My delaying in making a ramp to the roosts and nesting boxes needs to end!
