Stupid Nor’easter

So we are getting a ton of rain right now plus it is cold (35F) and windy. My girls are not amused. They are hanging out under their coop instead of in it. Does anyone else’s chickens only go in their coop to lay and to sleep?

That's normal chicken behavior.

They'll seek shelter, but rarely hang out in the coop all day.

Mine have decided that today, being about the same weather you're having (maybe a couple degrees warmer), was a good time to dig deep holes in a sheltered spot in the pen.

My flock actually came out during the lulls in the hurricanes we got this year. I guess all that rain brings out yummy bugs even in nasty weather.

No. Mine hang out in the worst of weather, usually under the coop or out in the yard to see what bugs the rain has unearthed. They are perfectly fine.

Haha it's snowing here about 6 inches so far more to come... opened the run so the girls could go out in the yard.. yea right they stayed away from the snow..
