stupid question about egg weight from a newb

    would an egg get heavier as incubation progresses? I have this one egg under my broody and it is such dark color I cannot candle it. it has been close to 15 days now and suspense is killing me!!! the egg doesn't smell so "something" should be happening I hope. so question is of I were to compare the weight to newly lasted egg would it be heavier?

    I'm a newbie too, but I had read on here somewhere that they actually get lighter as the progress...

    yes, they loose weight as the air cell gets bigger. IIRC its 3% a week
